Agencies to test emergency text messages and radio broadcasts
Tiverton, Ontario - Nov. 24, 2014 - Bruce Power, in partnership with The Municipality of Kincardine and TELUS, will be testing enhancements to the municipality's emergency public alerting system at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26. At that time, the company will share recorded messages through local radio broadcasts and free text messages.
The two radio stations involved in the test, MyFM 95.5 based in Kincardine and 98 The Beach in Saugeen Shores, will be participating as a public service. In addition, TELUS wireless subscribers within about 10 kilometres of the Bruce Power site will receive the free SMS messages.
